softly changing...

i saw a post on facebook where,
if you put milk in a saucer, add a few drops of food coloring and then a few drops of dish soap,
beautifully abstract changes would take place as the soap displaced the colors.
i think it was meant as a child's experiment
but it looked fascinating so i tried it.

the changes were sometimes dramatic and other times, subtle

the saucer became a tiny world
of fantasy and movement and dancing colors

a little saucer of art and magic :)

sweet autumn stuff

it has been a pretty fall.
crazy busy for about a month and then a total slowdown....
glad to have the time to stop and look around :)

bittersweet and beach grass together.  i love cape cod in the fall :)

and misty mornings on the cranberry bogs...

 and leaves. lots of leaves.

fall is currently my favorite season :)

the lightness of being...

 i am leaving winter behind.
right now.
i need light and color and softness and warmth...

it's not spring yet
but it helps to think ahead...

the colors of winter...

i am not a fan of being cold but i absolutely love the beauty of winter...
the world changes from one day to the next.
and instead of just the winter whites (which i LOVE),
there are 50 shades of gray...
soft muted greens...
pastel sunrises...
browns and blues and
feathers and seed pods...
there isn't enough time in a day to see it all.
and tomorrow,
it's going to be different :)

it truly is a winter wonderland out there

fall and nature . . .

when I think of fall, it is all about nature.
fashion people think sweaters and boots,
cooks think about soups and pot roast...
I always think flowers, leaves, birds, trees...
